Summer of Podcasts Promo

sop-425x

A quick announcement about the Summer of Podcasts.

Summer of Podcasts

Jeffrey Powers of Geekazine gives the low-down on the Summer of Podcasts in this video.

A Conversation with Derek Gilbert Part 1

This show features a conversation I had with Derek Gilbert, host of PID Radio and author of The God Conspiracy. We had a great time talking to one another about our various interests and ventures. The conversation lasted almost an hour so I’m splitting it into two parts. Part two will be release on Wednesday next week. This will be simulcast on Derek’s new podcast, View from the Bunker.

Also don’t forget about the Summer of Podcasts. There are a lot of great prizes that you could win, including one of two $10 iTunes gift cards that I’m supplying. You’ll have plenty of chances to win.

Remember to call 507-573-4612 and tell Taylor, “Give DAVe the cup!” so that DAVe gets two Elvis cups and PfW gets $100.

Feel free to leave comments or send feedback to geek{at}jesusgeek{dot}info. The voice mail comment line is gone so if you’d like to record an audio comment, send it to geek{at}jesusgeek{dot}info.

Summer of Podcast Madness

sop-425xJust a short show today because on Friday I will be releasing a conversation I had with Derek Gilbert, author of The God Conspiracy and host of PIDRadio and View from the Bunker. We chatted over Skype and the resulting interview/conversation is going to be aired on both of our podcasts.

This Summer I’ll be joining some other podcast in a great contest that could earn you some really cool prizes. Check out http://www.podcastmadness.com for more details.

Podcasting for Water is really getting some traction this Summer. Terry over at JTIndie.com is auctioning some items to benefit the cause. Once those items are available I’ll be sure to link to them. Thanks, Terry!

Remember to call 507-573-4612 and tell Taylor, “Give DAVe the cup!” so that DAVe gets two Elvis cups and PfW gets $100.

BTW, Taylor’s podcast, Snark Infested Waters has been nominated for a Parsec Award so make sure you vote for him.

In addition to the news, I briefly review YouVersion Mobile for the Blackberry. My full review will be available tomorrow (June 25, 2009) for you to read.

Feel free to leave comments or send feedback to geek{at}jesusgeek{dot}info. The voice mail comment line is gone so if you’d like to record an audio comment, send it to geek{at}jesusgeek{dot}info.

Cool Cups Only

Dave ups the ante with another plea for more voice mail while wearing a smart-looking Jesus Geek t-shirt.

Taylor “The Snarky Avenger” Kent from Snark Infested Waters Podcast has challenged me to have people call in to his show and ask him to give me his Highly collectible Elvis Limited Edition cup. If I can get 100 people to call I get Two Highly collectible Elvis Limited Edition cups and for every call he will donate to the cause Podcasting for Water [which benefits] Living Water International. Go to Taylor’s website and check out the details and then give him a call, Please.

Remember, for every voicemail received, Taylor will donate $1 to my Facebook cause, Podcasting for Water, which benefits Living Water International.

Circumventing accountability and filtering software

jesus-pornIf the image to the left isn’t enough to convince you that you should not be looking at porn online, well, nothing will. Of course Jesus doesn’t only watch us download porn. He also watches us gossip, lie and cheat.

Jesus also isn’t the only thing that watches us download porn, there are some applications that do that as well. They can all be circumvented and avoided in one way or another and that’s what I want to talk to you about today. BTW, thanks to Luke Gilkerson over at Breaking Free for pointing me to this image.

I feel it necessary to preface this article with the following: I am in no way condoning the actions contained herein to bypass, circumvent or avoid software solutions that filter or monitor Internet activity. I am merely providing information to make a point: Filtering and accountability software only works if you are committed to staying pure and truly being accountable online.
