My Name is John and I’m a Sticker-holic

There, I said it. I’m addicted to GetGlue. The first step in recovery is admitting you have a problem, right?

“What is GetGlue,” you ask? I’ll let them explain:

GetGlue is a social network for entertainment, with more than 10M new unique ratings and check-ins for tv shows, movies, music and books every month. GetGlue users rate and check-in to things they like to get recommendations and earn rewards.

It’s a way to share what you like (or dislike) with those in your social network. You earn stickers when you check-in to TV shows, movies, books and more. Earn enough stickers and GetGlue will mail you physical copies of said stickers. At the time of this post, I have 68 stickers:

Crazy, right?

I’m a collector at heart. If I could, I’d collect all kinds of things (I used to have about 20 computers in my basement). GetGlue allows me to collect without spending money and taking up space in my house. It’s something that really vibes with me.

What about you? What crazy thing do you do that people around you don’t understand?

I have a hard time using GetGlue because it’s too segmented on music (Are you listening to an artist or to a specific album?), and there’s no easy way to check-in if you don’t have a super-expensive phone.

Have you tried checking in using their mobile site?

No, because I have a CrapBerry Curve 8330, which is terrible for almost anything.

I used to collect Baseball cards and Yo-yo’s when I was a kid. I don’t think I have really collected anything since. As for things I do that others don’t understand…well…I’m sure there are quite a few.

I collected baseball and football cards when I was a kid. I remember the MPs used to hand them out on their patrols through the neighborhood.
