If it’s cloudy where you are right now you can watch NASA’s view of the today’s lunar eclipse via this video stream.

If that stream doesn’t work for you, you’ve got this option too:

The Streak is Broken

December 20, 2010 — 1 Comment

Last night as I was lying in bed before going to sleep I thought to myself, “I haven’t blogged today.” How sad is that?

I started December with the intention of blogging every day until Christmas, sort of like a blogging advent calendar. Along the way I challenged others to join me. The purpose of this little experiment was to see if I was cut out for blogging everyday and to see what I needed to do to make this blog successful. Here’s what I’ve learned:

  • Pick a day or two to write 2 or three posts and schedule them
  • I need to get more organized
  • I need to stop counting on being able to blog during breaks at work
  • I don’t need to blog every day

That all being said, I’ll finish out this week with four more posts after this one. Hopefully my organization skills will improve along with my planning skills.

Blane Young, in a recent blog post, was a little bummed because he hadn’t blogged everyday until the end of the year. There were a lot of other things happening in his life and he’d just forgotten. I encouraged him to take the “mistake” and gain wisdom from it.

It’s time for a taste of my own medicine.

Kilroy 2.0 is on my iPhone

December 17, 2010 — 1 Comment

Kilroy 2.0 is here. Kilroy 2.0 is everywhere, including your iPhone.

From ground-breaking author J.C. Hutchins comes the Kilroy 2.0 app. Kilroy 2.0 was the sarcastic hacker from J.C.’s 7th Son novel trilogy who went about hacking computer systems in order to help his brothers overcome their enemies. Now he’s in your pocket and ready to bring his larger-than-life personality into the “real world”.

Get your app signed by J.C.

At 99 cents, this little app is a great way to immerse yourself in the 7th Son universe. It’s really 7 apps in one:

  • Shake it to hear Kilroy’s quips
  • Get your app autographed by J.C. Hutchins
  • Create a custom id badge
  • Apply some 7th Son wallpapers to your device
  • Check out the “Code Phantom” dossiers
  • Listen to 7th Son, read by the author
  • Read 7th Son

7th Son was the first podiobook (podcast audio book) I listened to and J.C.’s writing which includes memorable characters, plot twists, and heart-pounding action kept me hooked for the entire series.

J.C. has since gone on to other projects but still looks out for his fans and the Kilroy 2.0 app is 100% fan-service. Thanks J.C.!

Kilroy 2.0 is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 3.1.3 or later and costs 99 cents.

I watched a lot of Saturday morning cartoons when I was a kid.

During the commercials you’d occasionally run across a PSA about eating healthy or not smoking. Then there were the PSA embedded in your favorite TV shows, like this one:
