Today my daughter sang at church for the first time. It was awesome to see her up there singing to God.
I have no pictures or no video of the event. Why? I experienced it. Rather than look back at pictures or video I experienced it without the interference of any electronic devices.
These days so many people want to record their lives. They think they’re sharing what happened when in fact all their doing is providing their viewers with a cheap replay of what happened.
You see, our imaginations and the memories we have paint a much more vivid picture than any video or photo can. We can remember how the room smelled, what the temperature was in the room and most importantly we can recall the emotions we felt while we were there.
When you’re taking pictures or shooting video you get preoccupied with with the technology you’re using to store your memories when, in fact, you’re failing to record memories where they will be the most vivid: in your mind.
The title says it all: blogging every day is hard. I really admire people who can churn out four or five posts a day. I struggle just putting one together.
